As Mace Windu, one of the Jedi’s greatest warriors, leads a small unit of Jedi into battle shortly after the war begins, the Jedi must make peace with their new role, or be lost to the violence around them!
Our first look at this comic, Penned by Matt Owens and illustrated by Denys Cowan, is shown below in the cover for Issue #1. On May 25th, the 40th Anniversary of Star Wars, StarWars.com will reveal variant covers by Russell Dauterman, Rahzzah and Javier Rodriguez.
I’m looking forward to the type of arcs we’ll be getting with Mace and his team of Jedi. This story takes place soon after Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, so we should see Jedi who are unfamiliar with being soldiers, thrown into a life of war. There are a lot of opportunities to reveal more aspects of the Jedi Order, and especially how Master Windu views the Force. In Legends, Mace Windu had the ability to sense shatterpoints, often giving him the upper hand in moments of crisis. He also used the Vaapad fighting form, which teetered greatly on the Dark Side of the Force. Fingers crossed this makes it into canon!
This story is a bit of a surprise, but one I am dying to read. But I want to know how you all feel about it. Is this the story you all wanted to see? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
