Way back when, we wrote an article on IDW’s new comic “Star Wars: Adventures”. Well, Comicbookresources.com received a pretty hefty gift of information from the publishing company on some of the first storylines in Issues #1 and #2, as well as covers, variant covers, release dates, and the creative team behind the new series! Read on for the details!
Below is the information we can add to what we reported two months ago:
Issue #1.
Release Date: September 6, 2017
Written by: Cavan Scott (Titan Comic’s “Doctor Who” series)
Illustrated by: Derek Charm
Length: 32 Pages
Cost: $3.99
Issue #2
Release Date: September 20
Creative team: Same as Issue #1
Each issue will feature two, orginal and canon, stories that can be set in any era of the saga. The stories in Issue #1 will show (1) Rey’s early days on Jakku, and (2) “A comic tale of clone catastrophe”. So far, only one story is teased in Issue #2. Read the summary below:
Rey is forced to save the life of the unpleasant Unkar Plutt! Will she be able to outwit the off-worlders who have captured him?
Rey’s relationship is still a complete mystery. Why was she left with him when Luke dropped her off when she was abandoned as a little girl? Why would she have this compassion towards him to save his life? Hopefully these two issues will shed some light on the topic.
The covers (shown below) also allude to maybe a few more characters that will be featured in this series. So far, here is a list of characters we can hope to see in future issues:
Rey (TFA and TLJ, as shown in her outfits)
BB-8
Finn (TFA)
Kylo Ren (TFA)
Darth Vader (TESB, and possibly from other eras)
Anakin Skywalker (TPM)
Darth Maul (TPM and maybe Clone War era)
Obi-Wan (Clone War Era, maybe ROTS and the “Dark Times” era between III and IV)
Han Solo & Chewbacca
Princess Leia (ANH, or before, and TESB).
Luke Skywalker (ANH, TESB)
C-3PO & R2D2
Yoda (TESB and ROTJ, or possibly after as I speculated here)
Emperor Palpatine
Boba Fett!!
Now, some may say these appearances on the covers do not mean anything. It’s just a way to get the attention of the readers. Possibly, but isn’t it more fun speculating on what new revelations will be told in this series?
Speculate away in the comments below!
